Moments

I’ve been working on a Special Edition Master Gardener newsletter. Lots and lots of pictures. All of them submitted by fellow Master Gardeners. And frustratingly, all of them are landscape. I had one tiny space on the front page that was just screaming for a photo using portrait orientation. Perhaps I had some photos that would fill the bill? Alas, no, but while looking, I was reminded of a photo I took in September that just took my breath away.

This is exactly how it came out of my camera. No photoshopping. I just love the deep rich colors and the contrasting shapes.

Sometimes moments just happen.

I love the rich colors and contrasting shapes, also. How fun to find these lovely surprises downloading our treaures ... one of my favorite 'ah-ha' moments!

Very true. I think I've gotten very lazy and reliant on PS. I was cleaning out a hard drive last night and deleting pictures and notice how much post-processing I do. I think PS has made me lazy the same way calculators did when I was a kid.

That you did not modify the picture in PS at all brings the beauty to the forefront. Too often I find myself touching up a blemish, enhancing color, or deepening contrast to get the picture I wanted rather than the picture I took.

It makes it harder to appreciate real perfection when you can generate it with our technological tools.
